Momen Kaido is a historic merchant street that flourished during the Edo and Meiji periods as a center of cotton trade.
Even today, traditional townhouses, sake breweries, soy sauce makers, and small local shops remain along the street, creating a quiet townscape where everyday life continues.

Stay in a 100-year-old traditional Japanese townhouse along the historic Momen Kaido street. 

The entire house is reserved exclusively for one group per stay, allowing you to relax in complete privacy and experience the atmosphere of traditional Japanese living.

This private machiya is ideal for couples, families, or small groups who wish to enjoy a peaceful stay while discovering the charm of a historic town.

The bedroom is furnished with two semi-double beds. Additional futons can be prepared, allowing accommodation for up to six guests.
However, to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay, reservations are generally accepted for up to five guests. Please contact us in advance if you wish to stay with six people.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, IH cooking stove, microwave, toaster oven, rice cooker, tableware, frying pans, pots, and a traditional clay pot. Guests are welcome to prepare their own meals and enjoy the space as if living in a traditional Japanese home.

A large supermarket (Lapita Hirata Store) is located about a 7-minute walk away, making it easy to shop for local ingredients during your stay.

Adults (High school age and above)

• Up to 2 guests
  Weekdays: from ¥20,000 (tax excluded)
  Weekends: from ¥24,000 (tax excluded)
  Rates may vary depending on the season.

• Additional guests (from the 3rd guest onward)
  ¥8,000 per person (tax excluded)

Children (0 – junior high school age)

• Children who do not require bedding: Free of charge

• Children who require bedding:
  ¥4,000 per child (tax excluded)
  Please select the option “Children’s Bedding Set” when making your reservation.

• For children who may need it, waterproof bed sheets can be prepared for ¥500 each.
  Please select “Waterproof Bed Sheet” as an optional add-on.

 

■Optional Services

Hot Spring Bath Ticket – ¥850 per person

We offer tickets to Izumo Enmusubi Onsen Yurari, a natural hot spring facility with flowing spring water located about a 5-minute walk from Akari.

Relax in the hot spring and enjoy a traditional Japanese bathing experience during your stay.

Semi-Self-Service Japanese Breakfast – ¥1,200 per person

Guests can enjoy a simple yet authentic Japanese breakfast prepared with local ingredients.

• Freshly cooked rice
  (The rice cooker will be prepared so you can simply start it in the morning and enjoy freshly cooked rice.)

• Shijimi clam miso soup
  (Prepared so that you only need to warm it and add our homemade miso.)

• Traditional side dishes such as simmered vegetables and pickles
  (Prepared in the refrigerator for you to enjoy at your own pace.)

This style allows you to enjoy breakfast slowly and comfortably, just like a morning in a Japanese home.
